Alexis “Lexi” T. Jones, M. Ed., LPC, NCC holds dual degrees as a licensed professional counselor, a professional school counselor, and she also holds national certification as a counselor. Lexi’s therapy style emphasizes the instillation of hope, healing and potential for growth, fused with evidence based clinical counseling techniques grounded in Humanism, Adlerian, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and Choice Theory therapy approaches. Lexi has experience in providing therapy to children, adults, and families.
Her clinical areas of expertise include, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Anxiety, depression, behavioral problems, stress reduction, conflict resolution, co-parenting, family therapy, and Trauma, to name a few. She looks forward to working with her clients in order to help them reach their greatest potential, Lexi is able to help each client with their therapy needs while working as a part of the counseling team which provides integrative therapy approaches including mindfulness and nutrition. Lexi knows that this specific holistic approach to counseling, wellness, and healing for the mind, body, and spirit is a comprehensive chance for individuals, and families to foster their wellness. Whether it is individual, marriage, or family counseling, Lexi is ready to help you in a collaborative effort to strengthen your relationships with yourself and others. Lexi received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Allegheny College and a Master of Education from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania. She studied school counseling at Slippery Rock, and also, as she realized her passion for clinical work, she decided to further gain her License for Professional Counseling. Lexi’s skills and intersts are broad and she also holds several degrees from Allegheny College, she also obtained a double minor in Mathematics and Communication Arts. Prior to working for The Counseling and Wellness Center of Pittsburgh and Monroeville, Lexi worked in various local school districts, such as North Allegheny, Mars Area, Karns City Area, and Allegheny Valley, with military families, and with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. She has also worked in truancy prevention with students in grades kindergarten through 12. Lexi has been counseling children, teens, and young adults both individually and in group settings.
A native of the greater Pittsburgh area, Lexi’s cherishes spending time with her husband, “Bill,” and their dog, “Honey.” For her wellness regimen she enjoys exercising, specifically, cycling and taking Honey for long walks, as well as spending time with family and friends, reading, gardening, baking homemade treats. Lexi loves traveling to North Myrtle Beach for her annual vacation, and as an extrovert, she is always excited to meet new people. She aspires to obtain her doctorate in counseling psychology in the next few years. Lexi is an eager and enthusiastic counselor and individual who looks forward to helping the families, couples, and individuals of Pittsburgh and Monroeville to ensure that all people are each provided with the opportunity to create a life of happiness, strength, and mindfulness!
