Carolyn Miller, MS, E.d, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania providing therapy, marriage, and family counseling in our Wexford or North Hills Counseling Center. She works with children, adolescents, family, couples and adults in trauma utilizing evidence based and trauma informed methods. Carolyn is an experienced clinician, by providing psycho-educational insight, therapeutic techniques and coping skills in several areas including trauma, anxiety, anger, depression and grief, healing, and balance will become yours. She has strong facilitation skills in group therapy in the areas of parenting, co-parenting, divorce remediation, and anger management and non-violent communication. Carolyn welcomes everyone into a counseling environment that is judgment free, embracing all, regardless of race, sexual orientation, or religion. Her therapeutic style is person-centered. Carolyn provides therapeutic guidance to lead others in the management of experienced symptoms and empowerment to emotional balance.
Carolyn has served as a clinical adjunct instructor teaching non-violent communication and cultural competency. As an advocate, she has served on advisory boards and councils in Beaver County working as representative for consumers. She has also served as a lead clinician for several communication seminars and workshops.
Carolyn is an attentive listener and reflective communicator. Her empathetic and calm demeanor is evidenced in her person centered therapeutic approach. Carolyn utilizes modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, gestalt therapy. She has facilitated seminars supporting children and couples who are going through divorce, separation. In addition, she has facilitated clinical mediation sessions for families mandated by court order.
Her undergraduate and graduate education is from Duquesne University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and Master’s in Education degree (BA and M.S.Ed). Carolyn’s undergraduate studies focused on communication/journalism. Further, her graduate studies focused on Psychotherapy for individuals couples and families. Carolyn is a psychotherapist, advocate, and teacher in hopes of assisting and supporting others to a person centered path of self-empowerment. She has offered free community counseling services at local libraries, in hopes of strengthening community mindfulness and wellness thinking. Carolyn enjoys traveling with family and friends, discovering and enjoying new coffee shops and cafes. Some of her hobbies include listening to all genres of music, reading all genres of books, freestyle painting, yoga, biking, swimming and watching NCAA basketball games.
