Aimee Bailor, M. Ed, LPC, licensed professional counselor serving clients in the Wexford/North Hills counseling center location. Aimee is pleased to assist individuals, couples, and families with realistic skills training to manage painful emotions and decrease conflict in day to day relationships. Aimee will help you to gain the vital and life enhancing skills such as mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness which support the process of emotional, relational, and behavioral change. Aimee has worked with couples, families, and individuals in central Pennsylvania and central Kentucky for over eight years, holding both managerial and clinical positions. She is motivated by her passion to see people live their best lives on a daily basis. Aimee has applied her clinical and life experiences to her therapeutic work in a variety of settings including inpatient/outpatient drug and alcohol rehabilitation, acute inpatient mental health rehabilitation, and outpatient mental health and drug and alcohol facilities.
Aimee’s areas of therapeutic expertise including substance use disorder, depression, anxiety, trauma-including military trauma and military sexual trauma, bipolar disorder, couples/family counseling and difficulties of single parent homes. Aimee uses cognitive processing therapy, and other solution focused counseling forms. Aimee has extensively worked with military families that are active in the military and transitioning out of the military and understands the complexity of military life culture and readjustment to civilian life. Aimee has a background that includes clinical research and leadership roles.
Aimee earned her Bachelor’s in Transformational Ministries from Warner Southern College, Lake Wales Florida, being an avid learner and aspiring helper, her bachelors was followed by her Master’s of Education in Counseling and Human Development where she added a specialization in Mental Health from Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia Kentucky. To further her expertise in mental health and wellness, Aimee also has a certificate in Massage Therapy. Aimee thoroughly understands the interplay of how mental stressors play a vital role in physical health and how mental stressors can manifest themselves into complex physical ailments. When Aimee is not offering counseling, she has many varied hobbies and interests such as re-purposing wooden furniture, do-it-yourself projects, and painting. Aimee is passionate about social justice and finds it important to volunteer in the community, endeavors which she often tries to do with her two children. Aimee and her family are new to the North Hills and Wexford community and they are looking forward to exploring Pittsburgh and its northern surrounding areas.
